Yarn

Sportweight or very light double knitting yarn with a suggested gauge of 6.5 sts per inch / 2.5cm. Cria is designed to use a drapey yarn, fibres such as alpaca, silk and superwash wool are ideal. These yarns are very likely to create a fabric that grows lengthwise when washed, this is taken into account in the pattern. Be sure to hang and weight your swatch. Cria features yarns worked at a fairly loose gauge, and the required stitch means that substituting heavier double knitting yarns could be a possibility, but a different row gauge will likely need to be taken into account and this will obviously create a different effect.

Altering the body length will require a change in the yarn required of approximately 3% per inch / 2.5cm for the long sleeved version and 4% per inch / 2.5cm for the short sleeved version.
